Re-imagine the art of the Valentine! Come join Maine artist Molly Brown who will lead you through the steps to make your own hand-painted map of a special place on Tuesday, February 13th from 6 to 8pm at the Cook Memorial Library, Tamworth, NH.
This art workshop will be a mixture of personal sharing, town history, geography and art-making. The end result will be a beautiful mosaic of hand-drawn maps of places in town that are meaningful to local residents. Folks will leave with their own creation to share with someone they love.
Participants are asked to bring a map of their own favorite place. We will also have copies of local maps, both contemporary and historical, that participants can use. The workshop is being sponsored by the Green Mountain Conservation Group; a seven-town watershed organization dedicated to the conservation of shared natural resources particularly our drinking water resources and the Ossipee Aquifer. This event is being co-hosted by both GMCG and the Cook Memorial Library.
This is a family friendly fun workshop for all levels of artistic ability. Suggested donation is $10 but nobody will be turned away. Folks are encouraged to sign up to hold their spot. Capacity is limited to 20 people. Please call Green Mountain Conservation Group at 603-539-1859 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to sign up.
