"American Road Trips" Introduction @ Cook Memorial Libray

  • Cook Memorial Library 93 Main Street Tamworth, NH, 03886 United States (map)

American Road Trips: a summer-long exploration.

We all have our own stories to tell. They belong to us but share equal worth. Here's a chance to tell yours in this two-part workshop led by Nathaniel Winship. Participants will meet for an introduction and discussion on Wednesday, June 28 at 7 pm. At this first meeting, you can choose to borrow a book about an American road trip from those on display, or you can provide one from your own library, or ask about others. Everyone will have most of the summer to read the chosen book and write a brief review or book report to bring to a follow up meeting on August 30.

The main goal of this workshop is to write or portray your own narrative (in any medium) of an American road trip. Participants will be asked to share their experiences in the final workshop on August 30. A collection of participants' works might be worth compiling into a small published volume.

Nathaniel Winship has a special interest in American road trips, and has a collection of books as well as his own writings. He is owner/operator of Tanna Farm in Whittier with his wife Hope.
